As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known. Read more »

Press Release:

The #OccupyVermont Movement Has Started.

We The People in Solidarity with the #OccupyWallStreet Movement have begun taking our Responsibility as Citizens, taxpayers, Mothers, Fathers and Children to Reign in the Corporate State.

#OCCUPYWALLSTREET is a people powered movement for democracy that began in America on September 17 with an encampment in the financial district of New York City. Inspired by the Egyptian Tahrir Square uprising and the Spanish acampadas, we vow to end the moneyed corruption of our democracy

Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%

The First steps for #OccupyVermont have been to gather and exercise our rights, The Freedom of Assembly, and The Right to Free Speech. At this point we then began to organize and form self governance. This is still in formation.

One we form a system based on Direct Democracy and Consensus, we can then choose our issues and methods of addressing them. Our Group at this point has issues with Health care for the disabled, corporate takeover of Government, green power, Vermont Succession, Labor rights, education, endless wars of aggression, unfair lending practices, and support of unjust regimes, and American Government’s  Disdain for Human Rights. We will refine our demands as we grow.

#OccupyVermont has decided to have a rolling occupation, showing up anywhere at any time we choose, with or without previous notice. We may also be forming an encampment with tents, media equipment, meals and such in highly visible public locations of our choice. All decisions made by #OccupyVermont may or may not fall within what is strictly currently legal. #OccupyVermont may choose to camp in areas not permitted for such, and will not be asking permission to use our own streets and public places for demonstrating by asking for silly “permits” We may risk arrest in acts of civil disobedience on targets of our choice such as large banks or the offices of politicians. We are not Afraid

We invite all who want to usher in an age of accountability, and get the corporate boot from our necks, JOIN US. You voice is equal to any here. You matter, the future of all our children matters.

We have many allies, from People all over the world fighting for freedom, to Labor Unions, Teachers, Students, good ole boys ,to soccer Moms and Dads. All the while Anonymous and others are there as our allies in times of need. The whole world yearns for a Just America, and it is our duty to make it so.

The Revolution has begun, so let us work together to insure a good transition to a better tomorrow than the world the Corporate Machine has to offer.

Last Sunday, concerned Vermonters met and marched in support of the occupation of Wall Street in order to show our solidarity and object to the increasingly brutal tactics being used by the police. At that time, we decided to continue to meet and rally each Sunday until the occupation ends, and we invite you to join us.

We will convene in City Hall Park at 12:30pm and hold a General Assembly to provide updates about the situation on the ground in NYC, discuss effective ways of providing support, and plan actions to demonstrate our support locally.

Greetings, people of the world. We are Anonymous.

As many of you are aware, over the past several days, significant demonstrations have been held in protest of the corrupt financial system that favors the richest 1% of our nation; while the remaining 99% have to deal with things such as abuse of our civil rights, overseas outsourcing of our jobs, and living off minimum wage. The minimal attention given to these demonstrations has caused growing concern, with rumors of media blackouts and repealed news coverage becoming increasingly harder to deny.

We would like to thank those in our national media that chose to cover the truth about the events of the wall street occupation. Your contribution to society will not go unrecognized. Read more »

The Myth of Bernie Sanders

September 29th, 2011

From Here

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has recently been elevated to near godlike status by the political Left in the United States.  Some of his fans have even suggested that he should challenge Barack Obama in the Democratic Presidential Primary.  The more often he is accused of being a socialist by his political enemies on the Right, the more convinced the Left becomes that he surely walks on water.
